Not just my position but the position of the committee you are crying about.
SMU won their regular season games down the stretch and got in.
As stated multiple times above (reiterating as I think you may only read the subject of my messages) it’s about momentum. Losses at the start of the season and then figuring it out to win out the rest of the season does not hurt you as much as going 9-0 and having the wheels come off down the stretch. Simple as that.
The committee is trying to show off the most deserving teams weather you like it or not. A team that is on the verge of drowning down the stretch (again their decisions were made before the Colorado game that spurred this call for us to be in the top 12) is never going to get the benefit of the doubt over a team that is rolling and polished down the stretch. That’s exactly how we controlled our destiny. Gotta win games down the stretch instead of resting on the merits of early season games and losing.
