I worked at a firm like that. Did numbers like the ones you're doing.
I agree with others who say have a specific plan. Focus on the financial side of it though IMO. Do not allow your lifestyle to creep. Use the $$ and the bonuses to buy yourself freedom from student loans or whatever else is keeping you in place.

I agree you need to exercise (whatever it takes) and find other ways to reduce the stress and anxiety. Listen to your scriptures. When you are home turn off your brain and BE HOME.

Also, understand that (depending on the firm) it doesn't get a lot better. Partners have (typically) somewhat more manageable work hours but MUCH higher stress levels. The pay is good, certainly, but obviously it isn't worth it for most.

Some firms will make an of counsel path for you (my good friend did this) and it was exceptionally lucrative without being the big money but without being so demanding.

If you are married, the best advice I can give you (quite honestly) is pray with your wife and ask for her counsel, intuitions, feelings and impressions. Listen to her and to the Holy Ghost and do not worry about how to make it work-- just follow what you're told. There can be good reasons to stay at a firm (I lasted 3 years) but the key is to listen to the Lord-- that will always put you exactly right. The Lord is the one who can tell you your best course (stay or go) and also how to manage in the meantime.
