and keep his head up. While the facemask happened to hit him in the head, I don’t feel like he was playing with his head to create the contact and leading with it like we see some players using the helmet, arm or shoulder to try to create the big hit. It was more incidental.
The head has to be somewhere, you have to be allowed to still play. If you feel like what he did was enough to say he was leading, great, agree to disagree. Officials watching it didn’t feel it was either.

I really do feel that you simply can ask for players to not do certain things, and injuries will still happen, but hopefully they are decreased. I don’t think you can punish a player if you judge that he didn’t do the acts that you ask him to not do, even if an injury does happen.
