My wife and I just moved to Oceanside and bought a house, expecting first kid soon.
Our ward is definitely a difference in generations - older people working class and younger people work in tech, finance, etc. also a few younger couples living with their parents.

Oceanside is considered the “up and coming/affordable” beach town and we just bought an 1800 sqft home for a hair under a million. I’m extremely grateful to have that ability. But man, not sure how most with young families could ever make it work. And honestly not sure where people buying these homes work. There doesn’t seem to be enough high paying jobs. I guess there are enough DINKs and remote workers.

And honestly long term not sure we’ll stay when I consider that a step up in home means $2M+
