The coach of the club team also coached the school team and the underlying message was that most girls on the club team made the school team. Made it feel like she couldn't play on the school team unless she ponied-up $2K to play on the club team. There was also a lot of social pressure to join so she could be with her friends. Its a clever way for a school coach to supplement their salary. It makes me feel sorry for the families that can't come up with the $$$ and the families that somehow do come up with the $$$ but really can't afford it.
