A misdemeanor and community service for a man from a family with those kinds of
resources is absolutely nothing. A drop in the proverbial bucket.
That may mean something to a middle or lower class individual where missing work could mean the difference in paying a food bill or a mortgage. But for this guy, it would mean nothing.
Furthermore, part of the punishment is as a deterrent for this crap happening at games. If spectators know that this kind of activity could have legitimate consequences, and it was clear they would likely be caught, it would go along way to curtailing this stupidity.
