There will be a civil lawsuit. Most likely he has a trust fund that is at risk. He also will certainly have plenty of
community service to do and will certainly be on a short leash. If he commits other crimes, then he'll be in big trouble.
Putting this kid in jail "for a long time" is ridiculous. It won't help anyone and will be a complete waste of taxpayer funds. Even a few days won't help accomplish anything.
