he may have received offers and money from them to play, but he decided that he was going to BYU whether or not he played football. He was offered a preferred walk-on, was on the team for 5 years, was able to put his eligibility on hold to serve a mission, played in 26 games, got a great education, met and married a wonderful girl in the temple and made lifelong friendships with players and non-players. For him and us, I don't think there could have been a better experience for him anywhere else.
We only pursued BYU, we put no effort into any other school in terms of highlights or inquiries. The quality of his education, which is what is paying the bills for his family now are what mattered most.
(and at no other school listed would he have had the opportunity to be booed by 90,000 Nebraska fans in their home stadium)
