100 things were thrown onto the field. The vast majority of it was on the end of the field where our team wasn't celebrating. Those fans were OBVIOUSLY not trying to hurt someone, so why do you think this kid was? The fans were protesting the refs holding call and doing it by throwing things onto the field. They weren't trying to cause serious harm to BYU plays/crew.
The kid's name is all over the news. He's been charged with a serious crime. He'll certainly be punished with fines, community service, probation, a record, and big legal bills. He'll then get sued civilly and is going to lose big money in that lawsuit.
Who is going to look at these consequences and say "you know what, that's all that happened to him... I'm going to throw this because the consequences are light."???
