It's like the took the attitude of "we don't have room for all of you, so we'd really prefer if most of you decided to go somewhere else anyway. Because no one's got time for this!"
So when she visited a school that acted like they wanted her to be there, arranged for her to have a conversation with professors in her area of interest, and essentially acted like she was the reason they were there - that's where she decided to go.
People joke about the Bronco'ism of "they recruit us", but after my daughter's experience I just figured he got that concept from the school in general.
