Not to mention the whole G5/P5 or G6/P4 argument is part of the problem.
It should simply be a 16-team playoff with all the champions getting in:
1) Did you win your conference? If so, you're in.
2) Seed the teams based on objective metrics, not this polling/committee nonsense.
3) Play at the home field of the highest seed until the championship game.
Period. End. Of. Story.
It's not that hard.
