When Boise isn't competing against BYU I usually cheer for them
I cheered for them as one of the little guys when they beat Oklahoma.
I did not cheer for them when the BCS committee threw TCU & Boise St together into the Fiesta Bowl to prevent them from being able to compete against the big boys.
This year it seems to me that the playoff committee vastly overrated Boise St at the expense of the Big 12 conference. Losing to #1 Oregon doesn't mean that the Broncos should be ranked ahead of Arizona State or BYU or Iowa State. But somehow they were given preferential treatment this year and I want them to be humbled a bit.
Boise State hasn't beaten a P4 team since 2019 (at Florida State). They should have been the #12 seed and I would have cheered for them as such. But having them as the #3 seed is an absolute joke.

Your definition of generation is pretty short. Also, 30 years ago, BSU was in the Big Sky with ISU and Weber.
