They’ve been good for a whole generation and have trended up
Moving from FCS to FBS. They are in the same camp as Utah, Oregon, KSU and TCU IMO who have developed into strong programs on the last 30-ish years. Oregon used to be a joke.

Your definition of generation is pretty short. Also, 30 years ago, BSU was in the Big Sky with ISU and Weber.
