I wouldn't say the medical community is unanimous in their decisions
There is still much to be learned about COVID. How to prevent it, how to treat it, how to distinguish who is most at risk, why it is symptomatic to death for some and no symptoms for others.
I don't see any definitive unanimity on those topics.
