Haha you and those of your political persuasion are the ones who have made it
Political as my previous post clearly demonstrates. I’m not praising democrats or republicans. They have all made mistakes but once again when you are the party in power you have to take responsibility for the results.

And I have yet to hear you explain how a country with our resources and world renowned healthcare systems, virologists and epidemiologists continues to have the fifth highest deaths per 100,000 people in the world, over a thousand per day for over a month...6 months into a pandemic. Meanwhile countries with minimal resources and worse healthcare systems have been able to fare so much better. I wasn’t aware Americans were uniquely the only country with people over the age of 65 or people with comorbidities.

You ask how you limit the spread of such a disease. Medical experts and scientists have already told us how to limit it ad nauseum. It’s widespread masking, social distancing, and preventing gathering of crowds in close quarters, especially indoors. You stop it with widespread testing, not just of symptomatics, and building up adequate contact tracing to isolate and prevent or control outbreaks before they become uncontrollable. That is what they have been saying for months. But they have been silenced and vilified for doing so. By both parties but most visibly by our president and the party in power( obviously.) And those recommendations have been ignored by politicians and citizens across the country. Countries that didn’t politicize these recommendations have lower mortality rates. It’s clear to see. I’m sorry your political views apparently prevent you from seeing that. If other countries are successfully doing it why can’t we?

Yes, at least a significant portion of spread is apparently by asymptomatic cases. Which is why all of these measures are necessary and you can’t combat it like you do the flu or other viral diseases.

You keep asking me to not make it political while at the same time continually bringing up NYC and Cuomo. That was 4 months ago! In the fast pace environment of a global pandemic that is eons ago and we have learned so much since then. I’m interested in what we are doing now with the knowledge we now have.
