I don't know if I agree with that analysis. If you are good enough to get an
offer from BYU? There are maybe 10 possible candidates for the BYU job, probably 5 realistic candidates. Any other job has dozens and dozens of potential candidates. There are probably 50-60 better jobs than the BYU job pay wise. So first, you are banking on 1 getting an offer to one of the lower jobs than BYU over many more candidates(because the 50 jobs better than BYU aren't probably looking at you right now) and doing well enough at that job to leverage that to a better job than the BYU job.
