So let me enlighten you. In the 80's it was BYU and everyone else in the WAC
the conference was weak. the only other team that was consistently good was the Fisher DeBerry coached Air Force Falcons. Occasionally you had a team like SDSU or CSU or Wyoming in a given year that might be better than normal, but most teams in the WAC stunk and stunk badly.
By your logic then Lavell's record should be criticized for the majority cream puff schedule that BYU was FORCED to play. And in fact there is little doubt that the MWC with BYU, TCU, Utah and Air Force was consistently a better conference than in most years when BYU was in the WAC.

Comparing Bronco to Lavell drives me nuts. Lavell built the program, won a NC and had some fantastic seasons.

Again, Lavell had taken the program from nothing to a NC team. He earned the patience. Bronco has not.
