Nick Vigil didn't beat us. We were beat when:
1. JSwag fumbles deep in our territory and USU immediately scores to go up 21-14.
2. Taysom is driving fairly easily for tying score and breaks leg. Team goes into shock and immediately has to punt.
3. USU immediately throws pass over the top to go up 28-14.
After that, Christian Stewart's only truly bad performance highlighted by 3 picks had the teams basically play to a wash in the second half.
It was that couple of minute period that lost the game, particularly the loss of Hill. Does anyone really think if the teams go into the locker room tied and we have a healthy Taysom we don't win the second half?
If we have a 3 minute run of that kind of luck we will lose. If Mangum goes down early we lose. But it won't be Nick Vigil that beats us. It will be turnovers, an injury to Mangum, and break downs in coverage. It will be that kind of perfect storm. If both teams play toe to toe we win.
