relationships in business settings leading to a pass on actual performance. Most on here have legitimate concerns that Kalani has the skill set to make BYU football a top 25 team. Maybe that is an unrealistic expectation, but wanting anything less is just accepting mediocrity. BYU has the fan support, tradition, and resources to achieve a decent bowl game and top 25 ranking on a consistent basis. If you don't believe that than explain how Utah has been doing it. I believe that the difference is coaching.
A ton of the blame falls on BYU itself for how it funds and hires the coaching staff. Those errors go back 40 years now and I had doubts that it would ever change. The recent basketball moves have given me hope.
