That's your hope. I believe (with examples) it backfires.

Initially that pressure may cause an earlier exit of that which you think was the problem. And you are so convinced you (the royal YOU) are right that we should exert that pressure.

The environment is can become extremely toxic — think New York/New Jersey/Philadelphia type of toxic that hiring good people becomes difficult/impossible because nobody wants to be there.
