Automobiles, that is where people are spending their money and housing
I know a young couple owns a townhouse and are still both in school and their air conditioner went out, and they can't afford to replace the air conditioner. Their cars are a Nissan Leaf that they bought paid cash for about $5000, which they're trying to sell and a salvaged. Toyota camera that they bought and paid for was cash 46 thousand dollars

Yeah, not ideal but rates will fall in time and prices on good homes 10 min from the beach will rise.

Because markets won't sustain these rates long term. Optimism for rate cuts is holding things together right now.

If only they’d stop buying expensive iPhones and save a little. My generation got by just fine that way.
