winning record is padded considerably by the asterisk, cupcake Covid season (which was fun); most of that 8-year record was compiled against a middling SOS schedule during Independence. The largest private university in America paying seven figures to its HC should do better--at least as well as smaller Boise State with a .713 winning percentage vs. .616 since 2016. And the collapses in 2017, 2022 (with an NFL LT and QB on the roster) and 2013 are most troubling. Injuries are part of the game that every college team deals with, and the inability to overcome them is an outgrowth of disappointing recruiting, so that excuse just underscores Sitake's shortcomings.
Most of us would love Sitake as our mission president or bishop; he reps BYU very well. Nobody expects BYU to post records like Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, but these melt-downs are below many fans' reasonable expectations.
