would be the kind of teacher we would all love our kids to have. Someone with real world experience and willing to work hard. I also think it is horribly unjust that you get paid the same as someone who is just mailing it in doing the minimum.

Even though my wife has been in education since we met, I don't know enough to know the best way to judge effective teachers are. It would take someone smarter than I am for that. But I do believe we could come up with a better system than we have now.
