tl;dr: Use the 247 recruiting class calculator to form a top 20 (score of 230+) or higher class each of the past 4 years using only LDS talent.

I've been playing around at 247sports to see how BYU's class would look if they somehow landed Mique Juarez or recommitted Garrett Bolles. This got me thinking. There is an oft repeated lament that "if only BYU could get all the top LDS talent they could be competitive to win another NC". I've read this phrase my entire BYU message board career (I started with the cougar-net list serve in middle school). Teams that have played in or won a NC are usually top 5, maybe top 10 in recruiting over a 4 year span. The one outlier is Oregon who has played in a NC game with only a top 20 recruiting average.
