yes, it's completely reasonable to think that 3 out of every 5 years we should
be a top 15-20 team... the two years we're not we should be around 25 or "others receiving votes"...

They have to be in order to maintain any sort of relevance.

That is a pretty silly comment. There are only a handful of perennial top 20

They also aren't independent. Oregon has been a top program for years and

Can we make it into the 90's at least? - Top 25

Going off of Run26. Assume top 20.

Perhaps I don't understand. BYU has ended the season ranked <20 several times.

I'm saying top 20 vs top 25 is pointless

Ask Bronco

TNT doesn't know anymore
TNT

No, with recruiting rankings in the 60's and outside the P5
FiveTen-BuckEighty
11/4/15 10:14am
BYU has 12 AP top 20 finishes (17 top 25) ever. ~25% are under Bronco.

I'd say every few years, hovering around 25-35 the rest of the time

I'd be curious to see a poll asking what percentage of seasons do you think BYU

you're thinking isn't logical. Four of Bronco's first Five seasons were exactly

It's actually perfectly logical...would love to get your answer to the following

Not consistently. We don't recruit well enough to expect top 25 rankings year in

Perennial Top 25 with a NY6/Top 10 run every 5-7 years

Why should we expect BYU to be a perennial top 25 program?

Unfortunately, I think that period is an anomaly.

Probably the same metrics you could use to convince me the opposite.
P-townCoug

I believe recruiting rankings qualify as a type of "measure" or "metric".
BearsandBulls
11/5/15 11:33am
i suspect you are spot on and it is very disapointing if true
run26
11/5/15 12:09pm
Why aren't you frustrated with recruiting rankings?
g$
11/5/15 12:49pm
I am frustrated with BYU's inability to land the lion's share of LDS...
BearsandBulls
11/5/15 1:09pm
is it really true that byuevery year byu misses out on the most elite LDS
run26
11/5/15 1:30pm
I've never done a thorough analysis but, g$'s assessment that BYU only lands
BearsandBulls
11/5/15 1:41pm
that's a real problem if we can't get our own (i.e. LDS) kids
run26
11/5/15 1:43pm
The reality is that if BYU could get the best LDS players they should be

How many 5*, WR's, CB's and RB's come from the LDS recruiting base? While we
mtnKat
11/4/15 12:32pm
to your point, there have been 2 4* LDS CB's in the last 2 years
g$

I believe Warner is more safety than corner.
mtnKat
11/17/15 12:21pm
There are more and more blue chip LDS skill players out there every year.

BYU's recruiting pool will not yield top 20 talent most years
CasualFan
11/4/15 10:33am
I am fairly certain there have been more 5*-4* LDS kids in the last 5 years
g$
11/4/15 10:47am
You and I probably have a different view of BYU's recruiting pool
CasualFan
11/4/15 11:23am
Seems your view is also shared by the top recruits
g$
11/4/15 11:43am
My particular view is BYU's mission focus over NFL placement
CasualFan
11/4/15 12:13pm
That is part of it, I agree
g$
11/4/15 12:41pm
I asked this a while ago. See how good of a class you can make with LDS players.

I'll expect it, but I *do not require it to continue to be a fan.*

It is reasonable to expect BYU to compete with top 20 teams
gww687
11/4/15 12:27pm
Need to be borderline top 25 every year and be top 20 more often than not.
cougaman
11/4/15 1:12pm
I think we can expect BYU to be in and out of the polls
