The reality is that if BYU could get the best LDS players they should be
in the 90's as the passing game no longer held it's novelty status as a means to overachieve, I looked forward to the day when just based on sheer numbers, LDS recruits would start to fill the BYU football team with talent that was difficult to recruit in the 80's.
Here we are 20 years later, and sure enough, there is enough 5*-4* LDS talent out there on a yearly basis, that if they did all come to BYU, I think BYU would be a top 20, football and basketball team.
I was way off in my expectations that LDS kids would want to go to BYU, for just the unique BYU experience above all other priorities.
