Very interesting comments, and many prove you don't read...
the entire post, or you just cherry pick out of it what you want.

As I said, these were a few things that irritated me about the kid, it was not the focal of the interview. To those who want to rib me, go for it I don't need your validation. But a few things are quit clear to me from many of your responses.

1- Most of you don't know the culture in the finance world in NYC. To say the way you dress is insulting to be brought up in an interview, shows many have never ventured into this culture or market were it is everything, and you are heavily judged on how you look. This is not meant to be about whether you agree with it or not, it is how it is.

2- Shoes tell a lot about a person, and who they are. I know you have all hear the phrase "You can judge a man by his shoes!" There is a lot of truth to that on so many levels. In my world, the shoes you wear and how they look are all part of the first impression.

3- Its okay that many of you don't like the NYC lifestyle or culture. I've never tried to push it on you, but it is the culture this young man choose to interview for. For you to attack me an the culture are the small minded individuals. I don't understand the need to do so, so you don't like it, then move on.

4- This was not an inditement on the Mormon culture. Many of you know I'm not Mormon, but am a big BYU fan. Obviously that says I understand the Mormon culture well. But I also know there is a difference between a "Utah Mormon" and a "Jersey Mormon". (yes I hear the jokes and talk about the difference).

Flame on I guess!
