any rational argument that an FBS 24-seed playing a 9-seed would be anywhere near that impotent over time. Same with 23-10s, 22-11s, etc.
So, to me, the argument that a respectable championship team like a Marshall or Liberty shouldn't have a chance to play a mid-seed like Boise or Missouri is silly. You lose nothing by simply playing the game, and I think the likely gain of an expansive playoff is enormous.
But, the people who get to make the decisions don't have the general interest of the sport in mind, so instead we'll spend this next summer hearing absurd debates over whether the SEC should get three auto-bids or four.
