The problem is we currently have very unbalanced conferences and this will not
change that.
Conference money is still driven by the regular season. Alabama isn't going to suddenly join the Sun Belt for an easier path to the playoff. They would lose a ton of money in the process and probably support and recruiting would tank being in a such a bad conference.
Sorry, but some conferences almost 100% of the time aren't deserving of a playoff bid. It isn't totally "fair" but that is the reality.

Not all champs deserve a bid. Marshall couldn't even field a team. This CFP has shown that more teams isn’t the answer
