It depends on what problem you think needs solving.
I'm not overly concerned with the standard percentage of lopsided games in college football carrying over into the playoffs. I also don't think there's any format that can really fix that. We had plenty of snoozers even back when the "playoff" was only two teams.
I think the bigger, solvable issue is one of sporting principle and accessibility.
