Have alwaya thought this would be the beat format. Aligns with the traditional
"top 25" that has been important to college football.
It's similar to the FCS model. If they had implemented it years ago, I'm not sure we would have seen the same consolidation of big teams into the B1G and SEC. Would have been really good for the sport.
Would still be fun, but going to be really hard at this point with the conferences stacked the way they are.

Not all champs deserve a bid. Marshall couldn't even field a team. This CFP has shown that more teams isn’t the answer
