Both things can be true...
If the CFB committee was only to assess team's resumes, then Cougarboard and BYU should have a real problem with the current rankings. BYU's resume is top 12.
If the CFB committee was tasked with the best teams (I.e., those that are playing the best with a strong dose of brand bias), then BYU doesn't deserve to be in the top 12.
So I think we can say that the team is not playing well and not deserving of a top 12 ranking if you are looking at the last 4 games AND....
You can say that BYU's resume deserves to be considered for the CFB playoff

I agree with that. Part of it was that our schedule was a lot tougher and many of the bounces that went for us
