Medical science has shown time and time again that a 10 to 20% weight loss, regardlless of how it is accomplished, in the body significantly results in less disease such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, and other diseases.

While you certainly have your own preconceived notions about weight loss, the above are not particularly debatable.

Your family members should be commended for taking positive steps to be healthier.
