Depending on the severity of the symptoms, accommodations at school may help
Meaning the school may be able to give your child more time on tests, a tutor, a parapro's help, etc. Two of my children have received accommodations to a degree. One is high functioning but on the Autism spectrum and the other has ADHD/ODD. The former is a great student, just needs extra time / attention sometimes. The later has a real tough time controlling his emotions. We just started him on medications a few weeks back and are trying to see what will work best for him (it's been a process).

If you help is needed above and beyond what you can deal with at home independent of the school / teachers, then talk to the school about the above to see what options may be available.

Good luck!
