If you need to hire a dedicated QB coach, you have to let someone go. Sucks for
Clark, but I don’t think we can decide whether the decision was a good one or bad one by Sitake until we see how the whole thing shakes out.
If you have to let an offensive position coach go who would make more sense than Clark? Funk is arguably the only one who “deserves” to be let go, but if you have to shift resources to get a QB coach would you rather fire Unga? Sitake?
FWIW, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Clark offered a job within the AD since he’s obviously an asset to the University. It could be that he isn’t going to be the TE coach anymore but could move into some sort of administrative or support role if he wants that.
