It is evident in comments found on various news outlets and in social media posts that your Dad's firing was not called for, expected or wanted - seemingly by anyone. The general consensus in response to his termination is disapproval and confusion. For what it's worth, hopefully he can find some solace...and validation...in that fact that there is a contrast with the general consensus in response to Funk's firing, for example. I'm not looking to pile on Funk or lift your dad on the shoulders of another's pain, but the responses are different and likely for a reason. More importantly, and maybe this is the only point I should have made, but there is so much surprise and support for your dad. Hopefully he can see it and feel it. The response to this news is generally not the response observed when someone has earned their termination.
