Not so much a date, but a dating experience...
I had dated a girl off and on for several months, all very casual. I'll call her girl A. We were currently not dating, but were both going with a group of friends to camp and hike in Zion National Park for a long weekend. I had been interested in another girl, girl B, who had served in the same mission as me a couple years prior to this. We had met up at a mission reunion and I asked her out. She was very attractive; the sister missionary that would walk into a zone conference mission and every single Elder would look at her with lust in his eyes. Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised that she showed interest in me, as I had thought that she my be out of my league. We went on a couple dates, and I asked her if she wanted to come on this trip to Zion with me, and she said yes!

We go down to Zion, and I had heard from other girls in the group that Girl A was not happy with me. I wasn't too upset about it because my sights were firmly set on Girl B. Girl B and I had a really fun time. She held my hand the entire hike up the narrows. She held my hand and sat on my lap around the campfire that night with our large group. Girl A was NOT pleased and she suddenly stood up and stormed off and sat in someone's car. A couple of her friends scowled at me and followed her. Girl B didn't know the history there, so she was none the wiser.

The trip ended without anymore drama. Girl B and I hung out a bit more, but it fizzled and we were no longer a thing. A year or so later, I came to my senses and realized that Girl A was perfect for me. Somehow, she hadn't lost her patience (we were always friends this whole time), and she agreed to date me again. We've been married for 17 years, and she still hates it when I tell that story!
