I'm not aware of too many kids who grow up and want to spend more time w/their
parents than they did growing up. I'm sure it will work out for you because you seem very capable but your advice won't work for everyone.

Many kids will grow up, get busy with their own lives, and not be interested in spending much time with you outside of holidays and some weekends if you live close. I'd rather spend as much time as possible with my kids now while they're captive audiences in my own household rather than banking on them spending time with me in 20 years.

How much time do you spend with your parents and in laws on average every month currently? Is it more or less than you hope to spend with your own kids and their spouses in 20+ years?
