Pit Bulls do in fact have a propensity to be aggressive towards other animals as do many other breeds, but they have been bred to be human friendly for centuries.

I bet you could go up to these loose pit bull killers and just put a leash on them and call their owners. But if you go after one with a baseball bat they are smart enough to know that they need to defend themselves. (I recommend not doing that for your own safety.)
