I grew up around a few neighbors who had Pitbulls. I learned pretty quick
to not even go by their homes out of fear of being attacked. One neighbor in particular and his cousins would often place a harness on his pit and place weights on attached chains to strengthen their dogs. One pit was easily the most muscle bound pit I've ever seen.

Occasionally they would walk the dogs through the neighborhood using a large chain link chain. It always looked like they were just trying to intimidate everybody else.

They are awful dogs and like cougarealist said they are the lowest common denominator breed which is why most people who defend this breed I would dare say have no experience around them. Pits are not found in the vast majority of suburban neighborhoods where people and families care about being good neighbors.
