generating future leaders of the firm that need to meet w/ leaders and clients and develop the skills necessary to run a business.
Most of my staff are getting their work done and doing great...none are pushing to become senior managers/partners. They are doing very little in the form of practice development, new client sales or even very good client relationship development.
Productivity has definitely not gone up...though it has probably not gone down too badly either. They get their work done, probably in fewer actual hours...but don't reach out and pick up more work which they might do more if they were in the office for set hours.
