That killed the most, it is always? Faulty logic. Plus the more cities ban certain breeds which is usually pit type dogs, it seems the attack rates go up. Banning breeds has backfired. Because then you get people who get these breeds and try to hide them away so they are never socialized or trained properly, or they get them from bad breeders or some "underground" breeder who didn't take temperament into account.
And how many of these fatal "pit" attacks were PROVEN to be pits rather than pit mix, boxer, American Bulldogs, etc? Or are people more likely to classify a boxy shaped dog as a pit bull because it "looks like" one when they are actually something else? Because some dogs that have bitten are reported as something else.
