I just had my son tested for ADHD and other things by a psychiatrist
Who specialized in diagnoses. It was 4 two hours testing sessions. It was legitimate - not just based on what a teacher or doctor said.

Results were negative for ADHD. But she did identify other areas where he struggles. She wasn't comfortable giving him a diagnoses on anything at that time but still had the power to request for temporary assistance in areas where he struggled. She said, if we are still concerned have him check back in a couple of years - because sometimes these issues cement more when they are a little bit older. (He is 12)
