I met this girl in a Washington DC singles ward one summer a couple years after my mission when I was an intern and she was a nanny. She was moderately attractive, and had a fun and lively personality. One night she took me on a date to some LDS-themed vocal performance event at the Kennedy Center which was fairly nice. For whatever reason we never went out again that summer.
Fast forward a few months. I'm back at BYU and have pretty much forgotten about her, assuming she's still in DC nannying. As it turned out she was back home in Provo. She asked me out again. The last date had been classy and fairly enjoyable so I thought it might be fun.
She and three or so friends had gotten dates and come up with some Creative Dating Activities. They were all awful. I didn't know any of the other guys, but we kept exchanging horrified "Can you believe this?" looks. The only activity I can remember is the no-hands bowl of chocolate pudding eating contest - for the guys. The girls seemed to be looking forward to the spectacle.
I was wearing a light-colored shirt that I didn't want to ruin with chocolate pudding stains. I also did not want to strip bare chested. So I put my foot down. I told her I wasn't eating the pudding unless she gave me a spoon. I don't remember much of the rest of the evening but I never talked to her again.
