His happiness probably isn’t dependent solely on his income.
There are some dudes wired that way, but I think it’s important to note that no success can compensate for failure in the home. If the kids never see dad because he’s always gone earning this fantastic living, a significant amount of teaching opportunities are missed. The only example he can set is working hard, which is a small component of what a child actually needs to learn from his or her father.
