Bikers act like cars because we've chosen to design cities that way specifically

It's called "vehicular biking" and was the model we designed our cities and laws around. I agree it's bad---but it's not the cyclists' fault. It's the way city planners have designed things.

We need to tell our city leaders not to design based on a vehicular biking model but instead a complete streets model.
