I agree with your overarching idea, but what about Colorado makes you think they

should be ahead of BYU this year.

Their SOR is 30 and BYU's is 7.
They lost four games (Nebraska (not good), Kansas (not good but hot for a few games at the end of the season), Kansas St. (pretty good), BYU (good))
They only beat two P4 teams with a winning record Baylor (8-5), Texas Tech (8-5).

BYU only lost to Kansas (same as Colorado), ASU (Big 12 Champ, went head to head with Texas).
BYU beat SMU (11-3, in the playoffs), Kansas St. (9-4), Baylor (8-5), and Colorado (9-4).

You were able to provide a concrete reason why BYU was better than UTEP. Can you provide the reasoning for why Colorado deserves to end ahead of BYU?
