The last forty years have shown that the best teams are clustered in certain
conferences. And that with conference realignment, those best conferences have reached out to and attracted the best programs from other conferences, further solidifying their status as P2.

I mean, which conferences did the “proactive” poaching the last several years? It was the SEC and the B1G. And they grabbed the best teams from the Big 12 and the PAC-12.

And then the Big 12 and ACC did “reactive” poaching so they could survive, grabbing solid but middling programs like ASU, Utah, Stanford, etc.

Again, the P4 conferences weren’t created equally, as if some commissioner divided up the teams to create four equal conferences. BYU fans don’t want to acknowledge this because we are finally at the adults table. But there is still a pecking order at this table. And understandably so.
