I went to Salt Lick in 2021 and I thought it was good, but I also liked Hard 8 and Pecan Lodge
Where I come from we have a couple of decent BBQ joints but , but Salt Livk is probably slightly better than those. So I understand why Soupie would think that Salt lick is good.
What cracks me up is being so butt hurt by people rightly pointing out that Salt Lick isn’t in the upper tiers of Texas BBQ.

I hate to be that guy but that brisket looks very dry and not very good. There are some great places in Austin

Spent no time in TX but had BBQ in AL & GA plenty. Realize TX is different. Honestly neither of those meats today were

The student is wrong and gives dubious recommendations. There are literally more than 100 places here with better BBQ
