Comparison is the thief of joy and social media just makes comparison too prevalent. Kids see their friends on Facebook ranting about their nice vacations and they think they need to "one up" them. Its the bane of the younger generation. I lived a couple of hours from the ocean but was 18 years old before I traveled to the beach. We had a large family and would indulge in fast food about once every 3 months. My first air flight was when I flew out to the mission field. I'm not trying to humble brag about how tough life was back then. I couldn't have been happier. Maybe if Facebook had been around, I would have been bummed seeing what others had compared to me.
